Advantages of LED Walking Acts for your event

The advantages are obvious. Especially in the dark season, let's be honest, outside, who sees a walking act from afar if it is not illuminated? LED walking acts are not only visible from afar, and even more so with stilts, they are also more beautiful. And different light animations, i.e. different color changes, are also much more interesting than simple strings of lights. How can a “work of art” be a more practical and beautiful eye-catcher than a large, illuminated walking act that changes its color in various versions and, because it is mobile, approaches people?

Einsatzmöglichkeiten von LED Showacts

Die LED Showacts auf (und auch mal ohne) Stelzen sind im Grunde everywhere where it is not consistently bright Hochkant often starts in the light, especially with the figures that are not completely white, and as soon as it gets dark, the lights are switched on. Examples include all kinds of light festivals, Christmas events of all kinds, but also city festivals, company parties, festivals, etc. Most events are outdoors, but as soon as the ceiling is high enough, performances are also held indoors.

Our LED Walking Acts

As already mentioned, Hochkant has specialized in computer-programmed light costumes, in addition to the many costumes that have been retrofitted with light. All costumes, with and without light, are lovingly designed and handcrafted by us.

The inventor

It started with the inventor, who came up with the idea of a light bulb, and his measuring device on his coat, with which he can measure (or have measured) anything imaginable, as well as his “Freddy”, who is carried around in a small milk can apartment with a light and a bell, but also his best invention: his wife! Her heart always starts pounding when something nice happens to her. And when it gets very emotional, she also changes color for a moment. These two characters play with a lot of contact to the audience and work very interactive.

The Chameleons

A year later, the Chameleons were created, a family with seven members, which now even synchronously light-animated are. The first show was created with them. Why chameleons? They are very special, not exactly thematically neutral, but which creature in nature changes its colors?

The Light Beings

Then the light beings were also individually programmable. They were previously available in a version with adjustable colors. Now Hochkant has both versions. If it gets too colorful, you can take version one and choose the color(s) freely. Since the light beings are thematically quite neutral, they are booked a lot.

The Dragon

Later came the greatest of all into the world: the dragon. Individually programmable, but his animations like his red pulsating chest are so beautiful that it is better to leave him as he is.

The Lumières

Then the Lumières were developed. New here: There is not just one lighting technique, but two different ones. Firstly, there is a basic light, which is left white during the walk act, but which can also be programmed differently. Secondly, there are the lines on the hat, chest and sleeves, which various light animations show. These can also be programmed individually in advance. There is even more light and even more possibilities here.

Die Geschichte von Hochkant und seinen LED Walking Acts

The idea came back in 2009, illuminated stilt costumes to create. Technically, there wasn't much on the market, but it was possible. In 2010, the first two LED costumes were ready, with LED chains and EL cords. From then on, more were made. Light was subsequently built into existing costumes.

Later, Hochkant began to work with hollow spaces and illuminate them to have more light. In doing so, we also switched to colorful, individually adjustable light, the RGB technology. In 2017, we ventured for the first time to program Arduinos, small computers, which we then regularly installed and further developed the programming. Since then, Hochkant has probably been the only stilt group, the light-programmed stilt costumes Some of these are also interactively controlled by or with the audience. And not only that, they also worked with motors. For example, a light bulb comes out of the inventor's hat as an "idea" and the chameleons' eyes can move.

In 2021, the first 7-minute show was completely programmed and shown:

Seitdem ist Hochkant mit ihren LED walking acts, vornehmlich auf Stelzen, auf der ganzen Welt unterwegs.
